Emanuel Frutuoso
United by a strong friendship, Emanuel Frutuoso and Rodrigo Filipe decided to start a winemaking project together in 2017, called Flui. The project initially began in a vineyard owned by Rita, Emanuel's wife, and has since expanded to include a collection of small plots of old vineyards in the Óbidos region.
In 2019, Emanuel embarked on his solo project, Safado, using grapes from a vineyard planted in 1955, which he decided to vinify personally. This was followed by two more wines using the Vital and Tinta Roriz grape varieties.
Old vines cultivated using organic farming methods, aging in used oak barrels, no filtration, and the addition of small amounts of sulfur dioxide are some of the characteristics of this project.
The daily commitment of Safado wines is to "produce quality wines, made by hand and with care, using organically grown grapes."
