Quinta do Olival da Murta
The story of Serra Oca wines is told by five cousins who decided to carry on their grandparents' legacy by producing wine at Quinta do Olival da Murta, a property that naturally passed on to their mothers.
The estate is located on the northwest slope of the Serra de Montejunto, 80 km from the city of Lisbon. It comprises 20 hectares of vineyards with clay-limestone soils, and their production is limited to 10,000 bottles in limited and numbered editions.
They practice organic farming and use only 20% of the total grape production on their own wines. Their wines are made entirely from Portuguese grape varieties such as Castelão, Touriga Nacional, and Tinta Toriz for red wines, and Fernão Pires, Arinto, and Moscatel for white wines.
Harvesting is done manually, and the grapes are vinified with minimal intervention. The absence of chemical products, combined with a slow and natural winemaking process, results in authentic and unique wines.
