Located at Olival, Ourém municipality, and in the wine region of Lisbon, Quinta do Montalto is steeped in history that spans over 100 years of existence. With 50 hectares distributed among olive groves, orchards, forests, and vineyards (25 hectares), the estate produces preserves, vinegars, and wines with the Denomination of Origin "Encostas D´Aire."
The aim of this 19th-century estate is to obtain truly genuine and local products. Since 1997, all the crops have been managed and treated according to the standards of Organic Agriculture with the control of ECOCERT-PORTUGAL. No chemical fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, or other synthetic chemicals are used.
The property has vineyards planted in clay-limestone soils with several grape varieties, with Aragonez being the most representative of the red varieties and Fernão Pires of the white varieties.
With 5 generations in the same family and the 6th generation being prepared to carry on the tradition, Quinta do Montalto produces authentic and sustainable wines that strive to honor a unique heritage and a promising future.
