Miguel Morais
Quinta da Costa is located on the left bank of the Pinhão River in the Soutelinho parish, Alijó municipality, in the Douro region of Portugal.
This 17-hectare property has been in the Lobato de Sousa family for over six generations, and it is currently managed and the wines produced by Miguel Morais, the 7th generation.
With a history tied to Port wine and olive oil production, Quinta da Costa has shifted its focus to the production of natural wines, with a deep respect for the region. Their vineyards hold the highest classification in the Demarcated Region, known as letter A, and are located at altitudes ranging from 200 to 450 meters, with sun exposures to the south-east, south, and south-west. In the 1970s and 1980s, there was an investment in the vineyards that hasn't been forgotten by the current generations, and they maintain 3 hectares of old vines in memory of their ancestors.
Miguel produces his wines with minimal intervention, respecting the vine and the terroir, in collaboration the oenologist Luís Seabra.
