Rodrigo Filipe
Rodrigo Filipe produces his wine on the slopes of Quinta do Paço, a family-owned property located in Alvorninha, within the Caldas da Rainha municipality, approximately 20 km from the Atlantic Ocean.
With organic certification since 2007, Rodrigo crafts Humus wines with minimal intervention, avoiding the addition of chemicals, except for a small quantity of sulfites at the time of bottling, and refraining from clarification or filtration.
Of the 20 hectares that make up Quinta do Paço, 9 hectares are dedicated to vineyards with clay-limestone soils. The vineyards feature a variety of grape varieties, including Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Syrah, Vital, Arinto, Fernão Pires, and Sauvignon Blanc.
The region experiences refreshing sea breezes and high humidity, creating a microclimate that allows grapes to enjoy a longer, slower ripening period while maintaining acidity levels. This unique climate contributes to the creation of complex, Atlantic-influenced, light, and fresh wines.
